Exhaustion

Tier 1 (Worn Out)

  • Effects: -1 to all skill checks.

  • Onset: 12 + cond mod hours without rest.

  • Recovery: A short rest reduces this by 2 hours, to a minimum of 6 hours.

  • Escalation: Becomes -2 to all skill checks at 26 hours.

Tier 2 (Fatigued)

  • Effects: Disadvantage on all skill checks.

  • Onset: 24 + con mod hours without rest.

  • Recovery: A short rest increases exhaustion tolerance by 2 hours, up to a max of 6 additional hours.

Tier 3 (Severely Fatigued)

  • Effects: -2 to all skill checks, disadvantage on all skill checks.

  • Onset: 24–32 hours without rest.

  • Recovery: A short rest reduces exhaustion onset by 1 hour, to a max of 2 total reductions.

Tier 4 (Debilitated)

  • Effects: Disadvantage on all d20 rolls, -2 to all rolls, speed reduced by 10ft.

  • Onset: 32–60 hours without rest.

Tier 5 (Crippling Exhaustion)

  • Effects:.

    • Can only use core abilities.

    • Disadvantage on all rolls.

    • -5 to all rolls.

    • Speed reduced by half.

  • Onset: 60–90 hours without rest.

Tier 6 (Total Collapse – Death)

  • Effects: The body can no longer sustain itself—death occurs.

  • Onset: 90+ hours without rest.

You can increase the onset by adding your constitution modifier by hours.
