    Orcs

Though commonly associated with violence and brutality, the orcs are a relatively civilised race, having families, jobs and somewhat good relations with the humans. However, this can only be said for a few tribes, for in the tens of thousands of scattered tribes, there are bound to be bands of orcs that still slaughter and kill. their lack of unity and their inability to use technology has made them often an insignificant threat to the major alliances.

    Goliath

Goliaths are descendents of the dying race of giants. They are huge, study creatures who dwell in the mountains in tribes. Their bodies look carved from stones and are an imposing form. They often wander. Some work as mercenaries while others choose more violent paths acting as pilagers and bandits. Most view them as fools and idiots who are there for brainless muscles, others view them as violent creatures and live in fear. History: The origin of the goliath is one of the most mysterious and called “the most interesting” part of their history. Some claim that they are the scions of giants and humans or dwarves, others say the descend from the earth genasi. Yet most agree that they must have something to do with giants which are now dwindling in numbers.

    Tiefrlings

Tieflings are arguably the most reviled race in all of Allurion. Neither Men or Dwarfs treat them with any respect or basic decency. Even Elfs, Lizardfolk and Orcs are given far more respect in the major cities of Allurion than Tierflings. It is said that they are a cursed race who were humans who struck a dark bargain with some of the foulest entities in Allurion’s history. Many still believe that such a mark still remains. While most live in a separate kingdom of their now shattered kingdom, those that chose to live in the major cities of Allurion find themselves hated and often the target of hate crimes and are made easy scapegoats. Tieflings are forced to be highly self reliant and the small communities found inside Allurion’s major cities often have close bonds.

    Dragonborn

Dragonborn are as the name suggests dragons in a humanoid form. Small in number, they are often found in small clans. Humans often tolerate these creatures for the horrors of the first Dragon War are but a distant memory. They are however reviled by the dwarfs for them, the memory of the suffering and horror the dragons had caused are still ever present in their minds. They were said to be the descendents of the dragons which were defeated and punished following the first dragon war. Some have speculated a connection between them and the lizardfolk which may explain a certain sense of pity that dragonborn often express at the lizardfolk. Dragonborn also have an uneasy relationship with the elfs who have formed a deep connection with dragons which the dragonborn take great offence to. Dragonborn are creatures who above all else, despise failure and are unable to tolerate the slightest of mistakes. The only exception would be their close kin, the Dragons, whom some hold in reverence, most in envy, and again most in hatred.

    Lizardfolk

Lizardfolk are a strange race to many of the more “civilised” race. Strong, savage, cunning and alien are words that most would describe the lizardfolk. Like Elfs they are rarely seen outside their communities but unlike them it is not because they do not wish to but rather because their culture and behaviours are so different to the other races of Allurian. While some have tried to fit in, most live lizards live together. They have no interest in riches and power and their goals are a mystery to all but the more inquisitive scholars. The lizards apparently are fully devoted to their god, Angoeru which sends out signs which the lizard interprets on what to do. These actions are seemingly as random as the weather, from attacking dwarven mines to offering large amounts of jewels of human cities for seemingly no price. While their tribal savage nature may make some compare them to Orcs. Lizards have a highly structured society which is surprisingly stable, a stark contrast to the Orcs.

    Halflings

Halflings are a kind and affable people, even more dispersed than Gnomes, Halflings are adept in settling into any environment they are allowed to. Most see them as harmless and as such they attract little attention, but should one find themself in danger, they are the first to retreat, unless they must save their friends first.

    Dwarves

Stout, stubborn and fiercely loyal, the dwarfs are one of the oldest races in Allurian. While some dispute the fact that they had been created before man but rather had created a civilisation before men, it is without a doubt that their civilisation has long existed before man. Despite this the dwarfs are a race that sadly live in the shadow of their past, their dwindling power now having to play second fiddle to humanity. Their race is divided, some remain in good standing with men while others hold grudges with both themselves or the other races for wounds which will never heal. While nowhere as numerous as men, dwarfs can be found in many of the major cities, their craftsmanship and skill in battle and engineering nearly unmatched and valuable assets.

    The Kingdom of Rodan

The Kingdom of Rodan is perhaps the most important and significant of all the kingdoms, not only in the Empire but all of Allurian. It has played pivotal roles in the history of Allurian and has often been a part of the major events of Allurian. Built on the west coast of the main continent of Alluroth, the Kingdom sits on many of the trade routes. The kingdom is said to have been where all humans came from and where the first alliance of Men, Dwarfs and Elfs were formed and in which the Empire of Allurian was created. Rodan is famous for its large cities which dot its kingdom. The capital of Rodan, Cidan is the largest city in the entirety of Allurian. Even the great dwarf city of Khazuk-Carin or the Dominion’s capital of Auroenix cannot match the size of Cidan. Even then, th

    Elves

The youngest amongst the major races, Elfs are rarely found outside their communities and cities. Unlike the other races who were created by the god, Alluradin, Elfs were indeed created by the goddess Lirineonix. Elfs are unmatched in their magical prowess and have reflexes few can match. A series of brutal wars with men and dwarfs have left both sides with a distaste and anger towards each other. While the Elfs have never really forgiven the wars which tore their race apart and nearly sent them extinct, they are willing to engage in diplomacy though they are more than ready to strike if that fails and tolerate no tresspases or provocations. Elfs are often obsessive and single minded in nature, often failing again and again until they are all but masters in their fields of studies. Elfs are often viewed as enigmatic, cold and deceitful and they are slow to trust non-elfs. Those who gain the trust of an elf find that they can be expressive , often eager to teach and noble. They are rarely found outside Elven territory and those that do are met with discrimination, suspicion and scorn. All Elf’s are ruled by the Phoenix Queen,an Elf who is considered the avatar of Lirienoix, the goddess responsible for the Elf’s creation. This is regardless of whether either a Wood or High Elf though the Wood Elf’s view the Phoenix Queen more as a spiritual leader than one responsible for political decisions.
