Resting

In LOR players can decide to take rest. Every creature needs to rest in order to stay at their maximum capabilities. Failure to do so will incure exhaustion stated in the exhaustion especially after strenous activity.

Short Rest

When a party takes a short rest, this refers to a period of 30 minutes to 1 hour, where the party does minimal movement and do not so much more as nap, eat, drink and nurse wounds.

When they do so, they gain the standard benefits of a short rest. The hitpoints recovered are as stated as below.

If you a multiclass you use the hit die of whichever class is of the higher level if it is higher level by 2 levels. If not you split 50-50 in the dice with the higher hit die being more if the hit die available is an odd number.

If you are proficient in medicine. You gain a bonus hitpoints equal to your medicine proficiency tier modifier * hit die and can split this between you and your party members. More can be found under the medicine skill section.

You can only gain the benefit once every 4 hours and up to three times every 24 hours.

Long Rest

A long rest refers to 8 hours of continous uninterrupted rest that includes at least more than 6 hours of sleep. Characters cannot do more strenous activity than short walks, eating, talking and may only take watch for up to 2 hours each. If interrupted less than 4 hours into the rest, they instead have considered to have taken a short rest if it matches the short rest duration. If interrupted more, they only gain half the hitpoints gained that they normally would and half the spell slots(round down). If interrupted and they resume long rest, they must rest double the missing time to gain the benefits of a long rest.

You cannot gain the benefits of long rest more than once every 24 hour.

When you long rest , you regain all missing hitpoints to your hitpoint maximum
