INITIATIVE
When combat begins, turns will be taken between the different characters and creatures as they take turns to engage each other. The determination of who goes first is determined by your initiative.
Every time there is a chosen skill. The default being Sleight of Hand or Perception. The GM declares which would be the default. Players can then suggest alternative skills to be used to replace the chosen skill.
Every class has initiative proficiency. You add the initiative proficiency modifier in addition to the skill proficiency tier modifier.
DETERMINING INITIATIVE
Initiative = D20 + Chosen Skill tier modifier + Initiative proficiency modifier
COMBINING INITIATIVE
To encourage teamwork in LOR, the initiative system has been rehauled from PF2E and 5E. A party now has a minimum initiative score based on party size as seen in the table below.
Players can declare while rolling for initiative who to combine with. They can then select one of the players and use their initiative and thus go together.
If you are combining with another player, you do not roll initiative. You act on their turn.
PARTY COUNT | MINIMUM INITIATIVE ROLLERS
1–3 → 1
4–6 → 2
7 or more → 3
