Dragonborn are as the name suggests dragons in a humanoid form. Small in number, they are often found in small clans. Humans often tolerate these creatures for the horrors of the first Dragon War are but a distant memory. They are however reviled by the dwarfs for them, the memory of the suffering and horror the dragons had caused are still ever present in their minds. They were said to be the descendents of the dragons which were defeated and punished following the first dragon war. Some have speculated a connection between them and the lizardfolk which may explain a certain sense of pity that dragonborn often express at the lizardfolk. Dragonborn also have an uneasy relationship with the elfs who have formed a deep connection with dragons which the dragonborn take great offence to. Dragonborn are creatures who above all else, despise failure and are unable to tolerate the slightest of mistakes. The only exception would be their close kin, the Dragons, whom some hold in reverence, most in envy, and again most in hatred.
Dragonborn are the lesser beings of the mighty dragons. Not much is known about their true origin, whether they were created by one of the Estrea, or if they came from the earth, or hatched as defects from dragon eggs. The most widely accepted and believed story by Dragonborn and Scholars alike is that one of the Greater and greedy dragons, (), saw a beautiful kingdom with beautiful people and women of humans. () turned himself to look like them, and had his way with them. Then he disappeared after every occurrence, and soon, dragon-looking humans and elves began to pop around the nations. Puzzled wizards could not determine the cause of such problems, thinking that each woman had slept with a lizardfolk or an orc, and were more befuddled to find that their scales and hides matched that of dragons. Elsewhere, () was punished by Worldbreaker Thothin for meddling with affairs of the foreigners, but other dragons who could polymorph, wished to indulge in such pleasures that humanoid bodies offered, and so many more too followed ()’s actions.
Another theory was that during the war against the Varduin, or after it, none are too sure, the dragons had a sort of mini civil war, of which the Elder dragons won almost instantly, and as punishment, Belthagar deformed many of the rebellious dragons into humanoid mortal beings, which were the dragonborn.
Regardless of how they appeared, the Dragonborn were shunned from most societies, being discriminated against for their looks and feared for their resemblance to a more fearsome beast. The Dragonborn knew that they were scattered and hated by the community, and so when one found another, they banded together, and made their own communities. This happened primarily in kingdoms, but eventually, the public called for execution or scattering of the dragonborn for fear again. The kings across nations and kingdoms with similar problems all decided to outright exile the dragonborn, save for very few, since they were such a small group that they did not pose a threat. The Dragonborn and any allies they have made left into the wild, but soon, groups met groups, and the groups formed clans. Clans rose throughout the Allurian, and they took note of each other.
After a few more years, the clans swelled and all other races became accustomed to the Dragonborn. The Dragons did not seem to notice. It was inevitable that the clans would meet, and either fight or make peace, but it was undoubted that the Dragonborn had established themselves as a powerful race in allurian.
The Dragonborn are respectful and will give praise to each race where it is required. However, due to Dwarfs hating them as a by-product of hating the Dragons, Dragonborn are known to steer clear of Dwarfs. Not because they hate them, but the other way around. They have long since forgiven the humans for turning on them, but some remain wary of them. Because the Elfs are friendly towards them, the Dragonborn sometimes favour them more than other races. As for the Lizardfolk, the Dragonborn see them as inferior, and in turn, dislike them in general. They find Halflings curious and impressive for their innocence, and praise the Gnomes for their ferocity and steadfastness. They hate the orcs for their brutality. They hate the aspect of dark magic of a Tiefling, but otherwise respect them as powerful individuals who can survive while being ostracised by the rest of the races.
Anatomy and psychology:
Dragonborn are lizard-like in appearance, having tough skin covering each limb and scales protecting vital locations. Their eyes vary in colour, depending on genetics and other factors. The placement of scales is also non-uniform and unique for each of their kind. Their strong jaws can rip open flesh, claws combined with muscles can tear through their enemies even without a sword. And their legs are agile and quick as a squirrel yet strong like a horse’s.
Dragonborn put their clans first and foremost, above anything, even gods or friends. Dishonour in their clan is the highest shame that a Dragonborn can have, and can result in great punishment or exile. Even the resentful humans understand that a Dragonborn without a clan is a complete disgrace to themselves, their clan and to everyone. A Dragonborn aims for excellence in any one thing, be it strength, intelligence or baking and woodworking. Anything short of perfection is failure for them, and sometimes, for their friends and allies. Of course, they understand that there will be great difficulty along the road, and that not all Dragonborn or others can achieve such success, but nevertheless they try to push all they can for excellence.
Tales that describe the Dragonborn:
Arnahim and Enki:
Arnahim was the leader of a long-forgotten clan. He rose through the ranks through valour, leadership and great difficulty in the pursuit of power. Once he obtained it, he abused every aspect of it. He brought the finest fruit to his mouth, the best liquor to his lips. He gave all Dragonborn of his clan a hatred of him, but his influence was too great for any to openly challenge him.
Another Dragonborn exiled to a distant land, called Enki, who trained in the ways of stealth and assasination, felt herself being called upon by Sephnia, a Great dragon of the First Fire, to meet and kill Arnahim. And so she journeyed out of her lands, infiltrated Arnahim’s clan and tried to kill him. However, he showed just why he rose to power, and managed to fend off Enki. The two duelled fiercely, each other's blades constantly at the other's throat. and the fight ended in a draw, where both blades were ready to cut the other's neck. Arnahim spared Enki, impressed by Enki’s prowess in skill, stating that she could have killed him had she wished, and decided to lower his sword, thinking that Enki was challenging him in hopes of being employed by displaying her power. At that point, Enki was surrounded by guards and other Dragonborn, and in fear of the rest turning on her should she kill their leader, she played along with what Arnahim thought. In truth, she also felt respected by Arnahim and the onlookers, for the first in a long time since she was exiled.
Enki sought for ways to kill Arnahim like what Sephnia had instructed, but found Arnahim more cunning than she thought. He did not know of her plans, but he was very cautious with his safety, going so far as to stay up all night reading books and scriptures if he heard a sound in the camp. She was appointed as one of his loyal guards, and later to advisor, for she offered great insight. In truth, Arnahim had wanted Enki to teach him many things for she seemed like a great teacher, but he could never stunt his ego enough to speak to her. But eventually, he asked her to first teach him about fighting, and in the little breaks that they had, he asked her other things. It had been very long since he had met someone who equals him, and she fascinated him.
As the months went by and Enki taught Arnahim many things, and he taught her about many other things, the two began to enjoy each other’s company, and Enki did not understand Sephnia’s order to kill Arnahim, who had changed over the course of their lives. Slowly, he treated the other Dragonborn better, commanding them less and living a modest life. People finally began to respect him, seeing a change in behaviour and leadership. Enki was the most impressed out of the rest, seeing Arnahim turn from the once proud and ego-inflated tyrant to a generous and kind leader of the clan. Their clan prospered and grew, and caught the attention of many other clans and even Dragons. Enki then realised the true meaning of Sephnia’s voice; that she was to kill the old Arnahim and have his true self come forth.
It is no surprise that Arnahim would propose to Enki, on a clear night where the moon clearly shone, and it is also no surprise that Enki accepted. The two wed and had a wonderful family. Arnahim and Enki travelled to many distant lands as joint leaders of their clan. Their journeys took them to many mountains, caves, seas, lakes, settlements, kingdoms, angry groups of orcs, other clans, and they found treasure, wisdom, allies, enemies and artefacts. However, one such travel would spiral into an uncontrollable demise for all of Allurian.
The child of Westmire:
In the small town of Westmire, the people were terrorised by a huge dragon. Every month it would swoop over the skies, the bushes and foliage rifling in fear and the trees stooping low even at their great height. It demanded a sacrifice; two fauns, a goat, two sheep, a ram and a shrine. If not fulfilled, the dragon of Westmire would raze how much that was not offered of Westmire to the ground. This continued for years. Some valiant heroes attempted to slay the dragon, but they perished, and the dragon killed ten people for every attack Westmire attempted.
However, one day a little boy decided to play hero and pursued the dragon after it claimed its offering. The boy found the dragon’s lair where it slumbered. In great bravery, the boy ran to the beast’s snout and whacked it repeatedly with a wooden stick. The dragon awoke, but did not guzzle the boy immediately. Instead, he found him amusing and curious. Feeling somewhat sorry for the child, and also that it was full from the offering, the dragon picked the child up and placed him out of its lair, and roared at it to go back home.
This occurred in the night, and the boy became lost in the woods. The dragon could not sleep well knowing that the child could be hunted by some creature of the night, and took flight to find him. It passed over a small gap in the treeline, where it saw four wolves circling the child, who seemed to have fallen from a bite. The dragon descended in a ball of fire and scared the wolves away, picked up the child and flew him to near the human village, and left him there.
For some reason, the dragon did not claim any offerings after that. The humans panicked, but when the dragon did not descend upon them with flames pouring from its mouth, life slowly returned to normal. It is said that the boy had changed the dragon’s stiff heart, and that the dragon watches over Westmire until its fall.
Arnahim and the War of the Dragons:
In their many journeys, Arnahim and Enki one day stumbled upon some old ruins that seemed to be a shrine. Enki found a roll of parchment with some words and read it, but as her eyes traced halfway across the words written down on it, madness slowly streamed into her mind, and she threw the scroll away and left in a great deal of panic. However, she didn’t tell her husband, and he likewise did not know of the event.
But after a week he did know for Enki fell into a powerful illness. Dredgar, Arnahim’s priest and chief advisor, could not cure the illness, nor could any human wizard, dwarven gemstones or elven magic could cure it. In another week, Enki’s arm, the one which first touched the parchment, began to wither away.
Enki told Arnahim about the scroll. Dredgar and a few select others went to retrieve it, careful not to touch or read it, and went back, but could not find anything out of the ordinary of the parchment. Dredgar offered to read it, but Enki forbade him and the rest to do so.
Desperate, Arnahim remembered an old tale about Belthagar, Envoy of the Sun, the Elder dragon that led all others. He was said to be all-powerful, and his fire was able to cleanse all the touches. After gathering information on his possible whereabouts, which was in the sun itself, or at the centre of the planet, Arnahim took much food and Enki and began their journey.
The trek to the mountain described to be Belthagar’s gates; two long spirals that descended into a ravine, took four days. And two weeks Arnahim traveled down the caves. He had gotten lost, split up with Enki, trapped or came to dead ends and found no way out and had to backtrack. He ate and drank sparingly, instead giving Enki all sustenance that she needed, comforting words and warm cuddles in the night.
But his love did not work like in fairy tales and Enki went blind. Her legs had shrivelled and Arnahim carried her on his back. Down a deeper cave, he found himself surrounded by band of Orcs of the Klazaki-Khan, looking for dragons to ensnare and kill for their hide and teeth. Arnahim tried to pass peacefully, but the orcs, seeing a beautiful and vulnerable Enki, and a lone Arnahim, and with them numbering fifty and armed with steel and magic, advanced on the dragonborn.
Arnahim killed them all with one rock and carried on, now with new meat to feast upon. Another week passed and Enki lost her vision. At times when they rested, Arnahim wept as he watched Enki grope in the darkness while weakly whispering his name.
But eventually, the two reached the centre. It was dug out, and a tinier sun stood inside a chamber of rock so vast that they could not gaze beyond the bright light. The heat ate their hide away and Arnahim had to shield his eyes lest they eroded in the heat as well. Belthagar showed himself; a massive dragon that blotted out the small ball of fire behind. Arnahim and Enki, who had lost all but her arms, bowed in reverence. Belthagar was impressed that Arnahim made it this far, and asked what the visit was for. Arnahim explained and Belthagar turned to Enki. Enki had lost more than three quarters of her weight, her once blue indents on her skin and hide now replaced with a fading ash black and grey. Her legs withered from the disease and atrophy from Arnahim always carrying her, and her arms looked to be a pair of sticks. Her sight, voice, hearing smell and even touch were gone, and her stomach failed a day ago. But still, in that moment when Belthagar was analysing her condition, she knew it, and groped around until she somehow knew she was holding Arnahim’s hand. He wrapped his arms around her decaying ones, and with tears in his eyes and a thousand pleas in his mind, he looked back at Belthagar.
Belthagar told him to stand aside, and once Arnahim had done so, he explained that Enki was cursed by a foreign malevolent deity through the scroll because she rejected it, and that his fire could not purify the curse. However, he said that it could still save her soul from being lost to the being, and (asked arnahim to kill her or not) or (Killed her without consent)
Either way, she dies there, her body dissipating into the air. Anrahim, now distraught and grief with anger and sorrow, lashed out at Belthagar, hurling insults, magic and the sword he brought along. The elder dragon remained calm, for he understood what he felt, and did not fight back, only worked a spell that sent Arnahim back to the surface, right back to his clan’s camp. Arnahim did not sleep, eat or drink for three days before he fainted once and gave in to Dredgar’s pleas to eat something. Then he explained what had occurred, and stirred the rest of the clan against the dragons.
Meanwhile, the humans have organised a summit between them and the dragons of the mountains of Kor that concerns the recently growing problem of the humans encroaching onto dragon territory. Riders had been scouting near the mountains, just where the forest ended and the ground sloped high up with rocks emerging from beneath, when a Fire Drake swooped down low as a warning. This occurred quite a few times, and once a dragon nearly breathed fire on a small party of human rangers, but was stopped by a larger and more friendly dragon, who chased the other dragon off and explained to the humans that they were encroaching in their territory, and that the other dragons were acting out of self-defense.defence.
(Shit went down)
The dragons began their first assault on the human settlements and small villages that had been built on dragon territory. None survived. The dragons split their forces to attack the humans, dwarves, elves and dragonborn separately, with one dragon sent to attack one particular area. The dragons understood that the other races had no solid way of countering the dragons save for sheer numbers, ballistas and magic, and deemed a brutal all-out assault to be the most effective for the time being.
The humans and whatever elves that remained with them backpedalled to their closest fortified city with walls and began to devise tactics to somehow kill the dragons, since they attacked alone. Their first idea was to use four teams of one ballista, two wizards and four archers. It did not work. They tripled the quantity and it showed some effectiveness, and not before long, the first dragon was killed near (). The dragons were shocked and enraged, and the empire was triumphant.
The dragons then attacked in groups of five, ensuring total devastation on anything and everything. The humans had a very hard time fighting back and could not drive them back much. The dwarves suffered the most, being stuck inside their caverns with not much route for escape, and the dragons simply breathed fire, ice or electricity and killed most if not all dwarves in their cornered caves, and to make it worse for the dwarves, the dragons made off with all their gold and jewellery.
The elves became scattered during the many retreats the humans did. Reinforces came from their capital, and lent their deadly aim and magic to the humans with many sacrifices. Likewise, the dragonborn lent their aid where they could, but suffered many losses against the dragons.
During the fight, some dragons turned against their kin, and sabotaged the dragons where they could. They did not go to the other races for fear of being shot down, and instead launched attacks on injured dragons that returned from battle. One of these was the Dragon of Westmire. The dragon flew, beaten and tattered, crashed into the () clan, and demanded for Arnahim, for they were the closest. The dragon explained that he had tried to defend Westmire from three other dragons, and managed to kill one, but could not save the boy told in his legend and was gravely wounded, and then asked Arnahim to slaughter every other dragon he sees. Dredgar quickly spoke of a spell that could bind a dragon’s body to another, and allow for easier polymorphing from that body to that dragon’s. The dragon offered his body, fine for it to be used in the hands of Arnahim. Arnahim hesitated, but then agreed.
The ritual was attacked by three dragons, but was nevertheless somewhat of a success, and Arnahim inherited the dragon’s body. Using it, he fought back and managed to ward the other dragons off, but from the mental strain of using a dragon’s body, Arnahim fell into a coma
In his coma, Arnahim found himself dreaming, and suddenly came face-to-face with the Moon Dragon, Sephnia. Thinking he was dead, he begged Sephnia to let him see Enki, but Sephnia laughed and told him that he was still very much alive, and would be waking soon. She then explained that the Elder dragons are well aware of the war taking place with their kin, but it hadnot incurred their wrath, deeming the harm inflicted upon the dragons was enough punishment for their folly in being aggressive and arrogant for all their lives. Arnahim accused the Elders of not caring about the lives of the mortals even when they fought to protect them. Sephnia revealed a wing with a massive hole in it, and said that she sustained that wound millenia ago from a Varduin lord, and it was half the size it was before. If she or any other similarly injured Elder fought, one lucky blow might end them, and one less Elder would be present to truly defend Tardorevan from the creatures and beasts of Sogomere. Arnahim remembered his wife, and asked of Enki. Sephnia also revealed that it was she who guided Enki into killing Arnahim, as in, the Arnahim who was prideful, and allowed Arnahim the great ruler of the Dragonborn to flourish. She did not know of what happened to Enki, but she helped resist the effects of whatever had consumed her, and confirmed that Belthagar was acting in her best interests, and that Arnahim could be certain that her soul resides with the gods in Elyssestria. Had she lived a moment more, she would be suffering in Sogomere for eternity. She then gives her blessings and trusts that his actions in the war are for the greater good, and advises him to destroy the thing Enki read, and any copy that may appear.
Arnahim awoke to find that he was in a makeshift city and with many wounded. Dredgar, who led the dragonborn in his absence, reported that he had slept for a month, and that the humans and dwarves have turned against them. Intel suggests the work of dragons polymorphing into humans and dwarves, and convinced the humans and dwarves that the dragonborn were no different than their dragon kin. He immediately screened all the Dragonborn in his clan for any polymorphs, and found five human spies, but no dragons. He urged the other clans to do the same. A dragon revealed itself in another clan and devastated it, and the survivors fled to Arnahim’s clan.
The humans began attacking the Dragonborn whenever they saw them. Arnahim took them in, much to his citizen’s annoyance, but managed to convince the rest that in times of crisis, kinship is needed. Arnahim tried to turn to the dwarves for help, hoping that they would come to his aid, and was later scolded by Dredgar for turning to dwarves out of all races for help, for which Arnahim was almost shot by many ballistas and arrows.
Now on a three-front war, Arnahim decided it best to keep as far away from the war as possible, only sending in killing parties to hunt dragons
Over time, the dragons dwindled and the humans grew every stronger. The dwarves did not cull their wrath and had the highest recorded kills of dragons and dragonborn. The elves did not score many kills as either too little participated or could not be bothered by them. The Orcs lost many but many more replaced them, and they claimed to have sundered a great number of dragons, but scholars believe they only killed lizards. The Dragonborn managed to kill quite a few but did lose many.
The surviving dragons flew away and hid, stopped attacking and hid in their caves, tired and gotten bored of the constant raids and destruction, yearning for peace for once. Some of the good ones attempted to make peace with the humans, but communications broke down somewhere and they rejected their appeal. However, some dragons, injured and their pride broken, flew to the Aurion Isles thinking that it was secluded and habitable for them. What they found was many elven arches, mages and protectors of their forests laying in wait. The dragons were ready to initiate a fight when one elf stood in front of the others and convinced them to lay their weapons down, saying that they themselves were beneath the dragons and should instead welcome them to their humble abode. In reality, the elf was playing on the Dragon’s immense pride, with the rest understanding and following along. And it seemed to have worked, for the Dragon leading the broken pack of injured and sick dragons praised the young elf for his respect and generosity, and they had an agreement to help each other.
Word spread and dragons were informed of the elve’s kindness, and the elves of the Dragon’s. Some elves went out in the frontlines to try and calm the Dragons down, and it often worked, and in the times that they did not, the two races assured each other that it was simply a misunderstanding.
The enraged dwarves and the not very intelligent humans saw this as an alliance between a race that slaughtered hundreds of thousands of lives and another race who cowardly sat in their islands eating berries and sipping liquor while the world burned. Further complications arose when communications by a game of telephone from peasant to guard to captain to politician to ambassador and to kings and scholars made the situation seem worse or more confusing than it already was.
Soon after, the first Elven War began, due to an incident involving the dwarves, elves and dragons. A dwarven fortress was seized by a mighty dragon, one of the dragons that many other dragons and even Dragonborn knew and respected. He took it for its strategic location near a lake, a large river and being close to another fortress. The dwarves were determined to reclaim their home, but did not have the magecraft to ensnare the dragon to subdue it and kill it with ballista fire. Human mages were occupied with another large battle, but elven mages had arrived from the Isles as reinforcements. Seeing no other option, the dwarves recruited the elves and they entered the fortress.
Much chasing and killing brought the dragon to their main dining hall, which was vast and had high ceilings. Only two entrances were large enough for the dragon to pass through and had been sealed shut by destroying a portion of the threshold. Beside them were smaller entrances, which were kept open. The plan was for the dwarves to enter from one side to distract the dragon, while the elves entered from the other unhindered and could cast their binding spell.
In reality, the elves that arrived were tasked to help the dragons and ease tensions in the dwarves and humans. Upon hearing the task of the dwarves, they could not say no, and instead, they planned to create a spell that would break their large entrance down and allow the dragon to escape, and give the excuse that the dragon somehow broke through with its sheer strength, and the elves fled. They would also tell the dragon what they would do. However, the dwarves decided to send a small group to aid the elves if the dragon decides to attack them instead. Upon reaching, the dwarves quickly deduced the elves’ true intentions, and quickly reduced their numbers with crossbows. They also heard the elves communicating with the dragon and shot them down too. The spell was almost done, and after a few bashes and taking some ballista fire, the dragon broke through the blockade and fled. The surviving dwarves told the rest, and the elves that were killed. The dwarves immediately declared war on the elves and dragons, and the humans followed suit after hearing of the tale.
In Arnahim’s final years, he gave leadership to Dredgar, for his sons and daughters were slain by dragons, humans and dwarves. The dragonborn were hunted down and killed, and many clans broke apart, leaving only a few surviving. The elves did help them a little, but focused more on the dragons rather than them. Though the humans have long forgotten of the wars, some dragonborn still do from tales and some even experienced them as a youngling. Yet despite all the carnage and sorrow brought to his people, Arnahim forgave the other races, saying that they are all creatures who have one thing in common, which was sentience, and they should not be fighting amongst each other, because at the end of the day everyone is simply the same kind of being represented in different physical manifestations. He somehow passed the Dragon of Westmire’s body to Dredgar using some sort of magecraft, and Dredgare passed it down to the next ruler and so on. It became myth and legend of each dragonborn ruler having the powers of a regular dragon. And with that, Arnahim passed his days singing merrily and with merriment, and asked for his body to be burned to nothingness so he could sleep in the bosom of Sephnia together with his beloved Enki.
Dragon and Dragonborn classifications, and well known examples:
Elder dragons are the oldest, most powerful and wisest dragons in all of Tardorevan. Their raw power and size alone tramples well over any other creature in the modern or ancient world. They consist of the first few Dragons, emerging from the First Flame against the Varduin as envoys and weapons of the gods above. The Varduin and the Elders fought harshly, with the Elders producing innumerable numbers of smaller dragons to fight back. The dragons eventually won, with much blessings of the god, but not without very heavy casualties. About 100 Elders emerged from the Fire. Only () remained, the rest dying from mortal wounds inflicted by the Varguin, and others dying from further complications. The rest who survived figured that their power was too immense for the world, and coupled with their wounds wrought with magic that would last for several ages, the Elders went into a deep slumber. The leftover smaller dragons populated the land.

Thothin (Bronze): Worldbreaker Thothin is a mighty and humongous dragon whose steps shook the entire world, and as he flew he plunged the lands below him into darkness, blotting out the sun. His primary purpose was to smash Varduin strongholds and to tank enemy fire. After a grave wound to his neck, Thothin fell into a deep sleep to recover.
Sephnia (Silver): Sephnia of the Moonlight is the mother of all current dragons. She could naturally create and birth dragons of various breeds, each with a specific purpose of breaking the Varduin. Her influence helped keep the powerful and intelligent dragons under control, but after she flew to the moon so that she could sleep, the dragons were completely free to do as they wished, and some chose good while others chose evil.
Vornra (Blue): Vornra, the Gaping Abyss has dominion over all bodies of water, be it a sea, an ocean, or just a small pond or lake. He led the dragons that commanded water and travelled by it and sank many Varduin ships, but with great difficulty, as Vornra was struck multiple times when facing their main fleet, and retreated and fell into slumber from his injuries.
Delgatha (Copper): Delgatha, the dragon of the four winds and the woods. Delgatha nurtured and cared for the woods and forests and everything in it during the war, and in turn, the forest fought back against the Varduin, or at least most of them did. They restricted the Varduin's movements and in subtle whispers along the wind and rustle of leaves
Galeed (Blue): Galeed the swift was the smallest Elder dragon, but that made him also the fastest. He was the prime scout and messenger the dragons had, and his power over electricity helped him tear through Varduin armies before they could even strike back. Galeed is said to be resting in the sky, somehow.
Cornificus (Gold): Cornificus was known for his intelligence and wisdom. He lacked strength and size, but his commands and tactics allowed the dragon's many victories and advances. His current whereabouts are unknown, though it is speculated that he sleeps in a mountain somewhere.
Morug (Red): Morug the Despoiler breathed molten lava and had stone for armour, and wrecked havoc upon any that faces him, with most of the attacks that had Morug in it was just Morug himself, and he often attacked Varduin encampments alone and left almost none alive. It is said that though Sephnia was a priority target, and Thothin was terribly strong, and Belthagar led the rest, the Varduin feared Morug the most and ran at the sight of him. He slumbers in one of Allurian's active volcanoes.
Mimir (Silver): Mimir is said to have brought light into the world, for he controls it. Mimir is a dragon that can manipulate and bend light to his will, and created many illusions to fool the Varduin many times, making the dragon's forces appear far larger for intimidation or making imaginary resting places for the dragons that the Varduin bombarded. Mimir is best known for once disguising a whole army of dragons in the sky as a few large clouds, and like Galeed, is said to rest in the sky, perhaps as a cloud.
Enum Sordovia: Sordovia is a legendary dragon that many believed to be another god in the pantheon. Whether this is true or not is speculative, but most dragonborn and even dragons accept that Sordovia is their patron deity of whom some worship. Clan still comes first though.
Belthagar (Brass): Belthagar, envoy of the sun, is a mighty dragon of fire. It was he who led the Elders to victory against the Varduin, and his council to put the Elders to sleep. Beneath that, he was also unmatched in combat, able to breath fire that superheated rock into lava in seconds. Old tales suggest that Belthagar flew to the sun to rest, but the tale of Arnahim said that he tunneled to the centre of the planet and is there to this day.
Mementos (Green): The supposed cousin of Mimir excels at magic that deals with the mind, able to invade another’s from thousands of leagues away, implant a thought, look into, steal memories, cause hallucinations or simply end them effortlessly. He also manipulated some dragons to ignore pain and keep fighting, or to make the Metallic dragons kill more. Mementos is shrouded in large grey areas as to what he did and what he can do.
Fanushka Fibbledroush (White): Despite a very funny name to hide its ferocity, this dragon is arguably one of the most dangerous. Also known as the Death Defined, Fanushka is able to create diseases to cripple entire civilisations. In the war against the Varduin, he developed a virus that could penetrate the Varduin’s magic and infected thousands. Though the mortality rate was low, and the lethality suppressed by their magic, the symptoms crippled large amounts of the Varduin armies that led them be overtaken with less death
Great or Ancient dragons are dragons who are somewhat stronger, wiser or older than the common dragon. This does not mean that they are good, simply better than most others.
Different Dragon breeds:
Dragon- standard four legged two winged mighty dragon. They are wise, strong and large
Wyvern- has two legs and two wings that also act as hands. Large but smaller than dragons, less smart but much faster
Fire Drakes are smaller wyverns that are coloured red and are very common. They primarily use fire to attack and are very fast
Worms- four legs, no wings. They are very intelligent, and traverse terrain fairly quickly and are incredibly well armoured with thick skin and naturally grown shells.
Dryverns are dragon-looking half drake half wyvern. It is a scaled, four legged winged reptile that closely resembles a dragon, but its relation to them is so miniscule that it is considered a beast, not a dragon. It came from an attempt to breed a race of less intelligent dragons that can be easily manipulated for war by one of the self-propagating entities known as Caladin Sigh, by crossing Wyvern and Drakes together in an abomination of magical rituals, along with other beastial attributes. Something happened that cause them to be released, and they roam the wild, rarely seen.
Food:
The Dragonborn primarily consume things that are high in protein and carbohydrates, such as wheat, grain, meat, fruits and certain vegetables to sustain their dietary habits. To do this, each clan occupies large spaces for farming and herding of livestock, and regularly sends out hunting partise to look for more livestock or for other large numbers of game, as well as import from other races.
A Dragonborn is quite disciplined in hunger, and will not eat unless their clan mates have something to eat as well. Rumours spread by humans during the Dragon Wars, either as propaganda or simply fear of the race, say that Dragonborn eat Human, elf and dwarf flesh. This is not true. Some Dragonborn refuse to purchase food, instead choosing to hunt game by themselves for themselves or their family or even for the clan, as they believe that this earns them some respect for their independence and skill, which is true to some extent, but it usually goes unnoticed. Nevertheless, this practice has grown into a sort of tradition for some Dragonborn, especially among the youths and the old.
Like any other race, the Dragonborn recognise and prize alcohol as a luxurious drink. They regularly trade with the Elfs for their fine liquor and the Halflings and Humans for beer and meads. They try to trade with the Dwarfs, for they have excellent beer, but the dwarfs refuse time and time again. There is a Dragonborn who sells a wine that was brewed using Dragon-breath and berries native to where the clans live, and he fetches a very handsome price for such alcohol. But unlike other races, the Dragonborn do not usually get drunk. Part of it is because they have natural resistance to poison and alcohol, and the other being that they know that they would play a fool of themselves if they do, and so restrain themselves from getting drunk.
Chromatic vs Metallic
Chromatic dragons are inherently evil and seek to grow their power through any means necessary, be it through violence or deception. The Metallic dragons are inherently good, and seek to remove evil and treachery from Tardorevan. If one catches the other’s eye, a fearsome battle will begin, and will usually end with one’s death or a very very painful retreat. Only in the great wars against the Varduin and against the other mortal races did they grudgingly work together with much dissatisfaction.
